The UI is a bit clunky (and dare I say "ugly") by iOS design standards but despite its aesthetic shortcomings, this remains my go-to offline GPS navigation app for all outdoor adventures--specifically cross-country wilderness hiking. While users may need to familiarize themselves with the apps features and functions beforehand, it has now become an integral part of my trip-planning ritual. I never leave home without first downloading an area map of the hike, which has saved me in more than a few instances from wandering off-trail (I also like to obsessively check my progress). Not all trails are marked, however, and the ability to upload and store custom gpx tracks and waypoints has allowed me to explore a greater range of rugged terrain without fear of disorientation. The apps built-in track recorder tends to drain battery on my iPhone 6 so I typically use it in conjunction with another app (MapMyHike) for tracking fitness data. If you love exploring the outdoors, then you need this app to be safe!
