I use this app all the time while off road. It records all my tracks so I never get lost out on the trail. It stores all your maps for use off line.

Frankly, Im too ancient to do back country biking, or even much hiking, but this app work insanely well at higher speed activities. 4x4, quad, single track, it doesnt matter. Perfect tracking on downloaded maps, or if in an area you havent prepared for, it tracks you and lets you follow your way back with a map, which downloads the minute you get cell coverage. Totally awesome. Furthermore, you can switch to satellite imagery or any number of other map types, export either live (if cell service) or after the fact, along with seeing elevation gains and losses either superimposed over speeds or separately. There are so many more features I havent even tried yet, but what I have done gets a rousing cheer of congratulations from me.

I use it for recording tracks when I hike. Organizing tracks could be better but overall its a great app.

Good to keep track of speeds when on boats. I use it to time and see max speeds of dragonboats. Good way to set goals and see improvements

Im giving it 4 stars because it works well. However, the interface is very outdated and needs improvement. Start with the modern flat design and minimalist approach. A new look is what would make this app top of its class.

Very simple way to create waypoints and tracks with easy email option for exporting gpx files. Works well with QGIS.

Have tried many mapping apps for off-road sports mapping and this is the best.

I have used this app for a few years and it keeps getting better. I track my hikes and MTB rides, as well as other activities. Offline map use is excellent. I put all of my bike rides into one folder and it provides combined data info. Great as an odometer function.

This program had been a godsend. The OpenX topo maps are highly detailed, and they are easy to download for off-line use. The whole app is easy to use. Combined with a battery pack, this app has turned my phone into a top of the line GPS for hiking.

I wanted an app to replace my bike computer. This app does it very well. Simple to set up and use. Thanks

Ive been using this app since the first version. Excellent app, frequent updates, great features.

I love that Im told every five minutes how far Ive gone and how fast Im going... It keeps me pushing forward. I also really like that I can pull if up on google maps.

This is the best app I have downloaded for my lifestyle,, my wife and I go backpack hiking as well as travel abroad,you dont need wifi or a phone service to record your tracks, when you do get back to a wifi connection or a service provider it will automatically place your track on a map, I couldnt be more pleased with this app

After installed on my iPhone 6+, the motionX terrain level 16 cannot be downloaded. I can only download to the level 15.4

Weve been using this app since 2009 on iPhone to track our hikes, walks, cycling, Skiing etc. It works very well and my wife and I love it. Highly recommended.

I have been using this app since the first version, it is by far the most user friendly yet capable navigation app available. I love that you can pre-load maps so that you don’t need a cellular connection to get map updates. If you operate in the back country, this is the navigation app to use - period.

Great app. On iPhone 6, I can no longer zoom in past 15.6 on the motion x maps. That is disappointing. App updates have decreased this last year and the apps age is starting to show. One of the best hiking apps available. I hope it stays that way!
